It could always be worse

I hate my job. Now, I do know its not much of a statement. Most everybody hates their jobs. Thats probably the number one happy hour conversation subject. Its not that my job is particularly hard: I sit at a computer all day, I answer the phone and I listen to clueless idiots prattle on about whatever goddamn advertisement (sometimes imaginary) that they saw about the company. Once in a while (and those people make my day) they actually know what they are talking about, and even more importantly know what they want.

I'm paid reasonably well (not great, but not bad) for my time. Its a waste of my abilities, but, that thats the rub, what else could I do?

I started looking at job sites lately; there are jobs out there, thats for sure. But, for Gods' sake, what kind of jobs are they? I'm either overqualified, underqualified, or could do the job but I haven't got the "education" to prove it. I cant say that I'm looking at the job market with any confidence. Especially in myself.

But, like the title says, it could be worse: I could be looking for a job without having one.

  1. i feel your pain. the problem is that when you are really negative about one job, it's pretty hard to be positive about the prospect of another.

it could be worse. you have people who believe in you, even when you don't believe in yourself.
